Jewelry Care
Jewelry Care
Every Izama Creations piece is handcrafted with care, which means no two pieces are exactly alike. Because many of our designs are created from unique materials such as recycled paper and cold porcelain, a little extra care will help preserve their beauty for years to come.
Caring for Your Izama Jewelry
Keep your jewelry dry.
Although our handmade pieces are sealed and protected, they are not designed to be submerged in water. Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or entering pools, hot tubs, or the ocean.
Apply beauty products first.
Perfume, hairspray, lotions, oils, makeup, sunscreen, and other products may affect the finish of handmade jewelry and metal components. Allow these products to dry before putting on your jewelry.
Avoid harsh chemicals.
Keep your pieces away from household cleaners, alcohol, acetone, chlorine, and other chemicals that could damage the protective finish, color, or metal components.
Recycled Paper Jewelry
Our paper jewelry begins with something incredibly simple: paper — carefully transformed by hand into wearable art.
Each paper component is shaped, finished, and sealed to help protect it from everyday wear. However, because paper remains at the heart of the piece:
Do not soak or submerge paper jewelry in water.
If your piece becomes slightly damp, gently blot it with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely.
Avoid bending, crushing, or placing heavy objects on the jewelry.
Cold Porcelain Jewelry
Cold porcelain pieces are individually shaped and detailed by hand, making each one beautifully unique.
To protect them:
Avoid dropping the jewelry onto hard surfaces.
Do not bend or place pressure on delicate flowers, figures, or decorative details.
Keep pieces away from excessive heat and prolonged moisture.
Clean gently with a soft, dry or very slightly damp cloth. Do not scrub or soak.
Caring for Metal Components
To help preserve the shine and appearance of chains, hooks, posts, clasps, and other metal components:
Gently wipe them with a soft, clean cloth after wearing.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sweat, moisture, perfumes, lotions, and chemicals.
Store your jewelry in a dry place when not being worn.
Store With Care
When you aren't wearing your Izama piece, we recommend storing it separately in a jewelry pouch, box, or compartment.
Keeping pieces separated helps prevent scratching, tangling, bending, or pressure on handcrafted details.
Avoid leaving jewelry for extended periods in direct sunlight, extreme heat, humid bathrooms, or inside a hot vehicle.
Handmade Means Unique
Small variations in shape, texture, pattern, or color are a natural part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.
They are part of what makes your piece truly one of a kind.
Made to Be Treasured
Your Izama jewelry was created slowly and intentionally by hand.
Treat it gently, keep it dry, and store it with care so you can enjoy your piece and the story behind it for as long as possible.
Thank you for supporting handmade art and Izama Creations. 🇵🇷❤️
